This map is a social media experiment adapted from A Day in the Life - Baltimore. It contains an estimated 2-4% of all twitter traffic, as only a small handful of tweets are geotagged (these are usually sent from mobile devices)

The data was grabbed using a geographic bounding box, so no other filters are applied. You are seeing public tweets from New Yorkers of many walks of life, throughout the 5 boroughs. Explore, learn, laugh, cry, draw your own conclusions and offer comments/suggestions.
